Cover Pic:  Plenty of medals and Cups handed out on Awards Night

What a great occasion our Awards Night turned out to be.   Congratulations to all our teams collecting their medals and congratulations to those who received well deserved individual recognition for their commitment to the Club.

Club Person of the Year 2021:  Aiden Doherty
Aiden made a huge contribution driving our fund raising efforts during Covid.  Our on-line Bingo was a massive success, our Lotto was brought on-line and of course the amazing success of the National Draw. He also looks after the 2012 boys group. Congrats Aiden.

Club Person of the Year 2020 Paul Tyrell
We all know Paul in his role with our Senior Footballers and his commitment to teams down through the years.  But during Covid times he got very much involved in the clubs contribution in the community in helping the elderly and vulnerable.   Congrats Paul

Club Person of the Year 2019: Caroline Whelan
Caroline started out in the club in the mid nineties helping out in the original Nursery which was set up at the bottom of the main pitch.  She then took over as chief registrar and has continued in that position to the present day.  She never misses a Saturday morning at the Club welcoming all to the Nursery.  Thanks Caroline for your years of commitment to the club.

Big thank you to Derek McKittrick for doing a fantastic job as MC on the night.  Thanks to Claire, Sinéad and all the bar staff who worked tirelessly throughout the night.  Thanks to Noel Delaney for the great pics, Dave for keeping us all on the dance floor and Ruby's for the great food as usual.

Mick Lawton RIP
It was with sadness this week we learned of the the passing on Monday of Mick Lawton, brother of our current U/17 hurling manager Kieran. Mick was a true volunteer in the GAA working tirelessly in River Valley promoting hurling with our neighbours St Finians. Sincere condolences to Kieran and all the Lawton family. Ar Dheis De a Anam Dilis.

NATIONAL CLUB DRAW NOW ON-LINE

The GAA draw was a great success for the club last year.  It helped with the running of the club at a difficult time.  It also allowed the purchase of portable lights to facilitate training and the purchase of portable goals and nets for our pitches in Kettles Lane.

There are great prizes on offer including a car and cash prizes.  All monies raised stay within the club.  This will allow the purchase of more portable goals and lights. It will support the coaching of our 1,800 players and coaching in the schools.  It will help us enhance our training facilities to maximise training slots.

Every team has an allocation of tickets which they are currently selling.  If you or your child is involved with a team we ask you to purchase a ticket from your team or ask you to sell some tickets on your teams behalf.  Contact your groups lead mentor for further information.

We now have 3 sets of Juvenile goal post left assembled in Kettles Lane with nets, in addition there is a small shed with main nets and flag poles.  This will greatly assist accommodate all our extra younger teams who up to now could only play games in Balheary.  All  this funded by GAA National Draw Funds.

Our good friends in the Swords Lions Appeal are going to be helping out again this year on Daffodil Day (Friday 25th March).  They would really appreciate if some of our members could give them some help on the day.  (Contact:  fingallians@gmail.com)

We are delighted to be hosting the 2022 Scór na nÓg Dublin county final on 13th March.
