Cover Pic: Social and Awards Night

We are delighted to be able to celebrate our Awards Night at last.  We have been waiting for over 2 years to give out medals to our well deserved ladies and mens teams.  It's also going to be great occasion for all our members to meet up on a social level once again.

A great night was had at our Quiz Night last Friday.  Charlie Rogan, Breda & Colm Crowley and Bob Kavanagh were the winning team on the night.  We are hoping to have another Quiz Night on March 4th before all the St Patricks Day madness kicks off.  Will update you closer to the time.

Lidl - Level the Playing Field  - IT'S BACK

Last  year we did a great job in collecting stamp cards at Lidl and got 3 sets of jerseys for our girls and ladies teams.  This year, with your support, we are hoping to do even better.  It's a super opportunity to acquire Jerseys or cash sums of up to €20,000.  If you shop at Lidl make sure you download the app and pick Fingallians as your club option.  Make sure you spread the word to family and friends and lets get collecting.

Coaching and Games 2022 and Beyond

Fingallians GAA is now one of the largest sports club in North Dublin. We’ve seen rapid growth in both the population of Swords and our membership over the last number of years.

Our membership of more than 2,000 has grown 35% from 2020 to 2021 alone and projections for the future sees similar trend in growth in the coming years.

We now have over 90 teams with more than 250 coaches involved in these teams.

This phenomenal growth brings with it the need to support our coaches and players through coach education and targeted coaching programs.

One of the impacts of COVID since 2020 has been that our coaches cannot access the education and coaching assistance that would normally be available.

We have now established a new coaching committee under the guidance of Ger O'Connor. The group have started engagement with our GPO and Team Mentors to plan a program for 2022

To ensure Naoise Waldron, our GPO can support our coaching and coach education programs in the schools and Club, we have decided to hire an additional coaching resource for our schools.

The Schools coach will be employed to  provide 15 hours per week of coaching support in schools between the hours of 9 and 2pm.

If you have an interest in this role, please reach out to us on chairperson.fingallians.dublin@gaa.ie for more information.
