This is our final Club Notes before Christmas so we would like take this opportunity to wish all our Mentors, Volunteers, Club Members, Sponsors and your Families a very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

Support our Sponsors This Christmas

Last Saturday was the final Nursery/Academy of the year.  We would like to say a big thank you to Santa for visiting despite it being his busiest time of year! He had great time for all the Fingallians kids were delighted to meet him.

Also thanks to all Santa's helpers.  Every Saturday we have a fantastic group of volunteers who give of their time to make sure all of our youngest members can develop their skills. Thanks to all involved.

Match Results

Hard luck to our Minor Camogie who were beaten by just 2 points in their Division 2 semi final on Sunday.  It was a hard fought battle by both sides on heavy ground with Cuala coming out on top.
Final score Fingallians 2-5, Cuala 2-7.

This is the first year in recent times that Fins have had a team at U18 and getting to the championship semi final is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the girls and management team.  Well done all involved.

Camogie
This year has seen the Camogie section going from strength to strength.  We fielded two Adult teams for the first time in our clubs history and numbers in our Juvenile section are at an all time high.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our mentors, players, parents and supporters for your commitment to Camogie throughout the year.  Also we would like to thank our sponsors who have provided us with jerseys.  Wishing you all a happy and safe Christmas and looking forward to getting back to play in 2022.

Fingallians Ladies Football
The growth of Ladies football in Fingallians in 2021 has been fantastic.  We are grateful to the parents and families who provide their support to allow players enjoy training and matches at all levels.  Thank you to the mentors whose work, both on and off the field, has had a major contribution to players enjoying, and improving, their football skills with a fair share of trophies as well to show for it.  Wishing you all a very happy Christmas, enjoy the holidays and come back with even more enthusiasm! -
Fintan Keeling

Juvenile Section
As all team activities finish up for another year, on behalf of all in our Juvenile section, I want to offer our sincerest thanks to and praise to our young players, parents, mentors and volunteers for your continued support and commitment to our club.

Although 2021 has been a very challenging year it has been great to get back playing games.  Our juvenile membership has continued to increase all through the year with more juveniles playing now for Fins than ever before!!  We have had some great team performances and development in 2021 and we look forward with confidence to brighter times.

I hope you and your families have a safe and peaceful Christmas and that all have a good break before we start back to training in the New Year.

Dónal Cassidy, Juvenile Chairman.

PJ Carey

It was with great sadness that we learned on Friday morning of the passing of our past player and club member PJ Carey. PJ arrived into the Fingallians family setup in the early nineties and played a major part in the Senior and Intermediate teams over the following years. PJ was part of the senior setup and wore the number 5 jersey with gusto and pride. His football skills and strength will be remembered fondly by all his teammates who played alongside him over his playing career. PJ's mannerism is what everyone will remember him by on and off the pitch and the word gentleman would be an understatement to him. PJ was a proud Mayo man and would love the banter with us Dubs whenever the two counties met. His contribution to the club and to many other projects within the Swords community will be fondly remembered by all. To his wife Aideen, daughters Ciara and Ashling his brothers and sisters and his work colleagues and friends we pass on our heartfelt condolences. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Comhghairdeas ar bhur lá posta.

All in Fingallians would like to wish our own Nicola McKittrick and Connor Carbury the very best on their Wedding Day this Friday.  Congratulations to you both and best wishes for a happy life together.
