With the Hurling Intermediate Final approaching this weekend the excitement is building.  It's fantastic to see all the flags flying around the club house and in the town where we also have our banners at the Castle.  Make sure you watch out for the Castle being lit up in red from Wednesday this week to support the club.

Match Results & Fixtures

Minor Hurlers
Disappointment for our Minor A Hurlers in their Championship Semi-Final losing to a strong Ballinteer side.  This team have done the club proud this year winning the Div 2 Hurling League and giving great performances through their championship campaign.  Well done to the players, mentors and all involved through the year.

There was disappointment also for our Minor B hurlers in their Championship semi-final on Sunday in Balheary as Castleknock proved too strong.  A great crowd turned out to support the team and this passionate group of players will be back for the inaugural U19 leagues and championship next year.

Thanks to Halpenny Golf for their continued support.

 Seán Foley

It was with great sadness this week that we learned of the passing of our former Chairman, Executive Club Member and past club footballer Seán Foley.
Seán joined the Fingallians family in the sixties along with fellow past chairman Patsy Markhem.  He was part of the senior football setup in the late sixties and seventies and his performances on the pitch saw him earn a call up with the Dublin senior setup.

Seán continued to play with the club for many years finishing up with our Junior team that contested the 1979 team Junior Final. He was always available to offer guidance and encouragement to the younger players of that time many of whom went on to be part of one of our strongest senior teams.

Following on from his playing days Seán turned to management through the 1980s helping both our senior and junior teams to win numerous leagues and cups.
During those years Seán also became a member of the club executive and numerous other committees. He was an instrumental part of the club decision to develop from the prefab setup at the time towards the buildings we have today. Seán became Chairperson of the club in the early eighties and alongside other past members organised the club's 100th anniversary celebrations. During those years, together with Paddy Kelly and others, he helped to create an entertainment and festival committee that brought many of Ireland's top entertainers to the clubhouse during the annual great Fingallians Festivals.
Seán's sons followed in his footsteps and wore the red jersey from under age up to adult, with his son Paul also donning the Dubs jersey.
The club will be forever grateful for the work and vision of Seán and his fellow club members during those years which has left us with the facilities we enjoy today for all our club members.
All in Fingallians express our sincere condolences to Sean's wife Marie, his sons Alan, Paul, Trevor, Karl and their families. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Best of luck to Aoife O'Reilly and Louise Dalton who are representing Fingallians GAA on TG4s Underdogs.  Tune in to TG4 on Thursday @ 9.30 to follow the girls journey.

Dublin Scór na nÓg will be held in January '22. Fingallians GAA are seeking expressions of interest from Under 17s to represent the club in the following categories: Figure/Céilí Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation/Scéalaíocht, Ballad Group, Novelty Act, Question Time and Set Dancing.
