As we are heading into the Bank Holiday weekend there will be no Juvenile games.  Enjoy the rest folks!  Still plenty going on in the Club.  Sunday night there will be music in the club provided by Coinneach and drinks in the bar will now be served until 12.  (Please book your table for the Music outside).  The bar is also open on Bank Holiday Monday.   

Coinneach will be playing Sunday 8.00 til 11.30

Richie Herrity and Peter Murtagh representing Dublin in the Masters last weekend.  After a great win v Mayo they are now into the All Ireland Final against Tyrone.  Congratulations & Best of luck lads.

Adult Hurlers Sponsored by Rubys

A great weekend of hurling for both our Adult Hurling teams making it into the semi-finals of their respective Championships with wins over St Brigids & Ballinteer. Both teams have drawn Naomh Mearnóg at home in the semi finals with our 1st team out Saturday 30th in the Intermediate and our Juniors out the following morning. More details next week.

Congratulations to our Minor B Football team on their quarter final win in Howth last Sunday in the E Championship.
Fingallians B 4-12  Beann Eadair 1-9.
The other Minor B team lost out to Erin’s Isle in the E Shield by just three points.
Thanks to Halpenny Golf for their continued support of this dedicated squad of players.

Fixtures

Two huge matches this weekend for our Mens & Ladies footballers with senior status on the line. First up on Saturday all roads lead to the Naul for our play off with Fingal Ravens 3.45 throw in. Lets get out there in large numbers to support the lads & get that vital win.

Then on Sunday it is the turn of the ladies with a 3pm throw in away to Thomas Davis. Again a vital win is required so lots of support needed.

It is also a big weekend for our Minor Hurlers who are both in championship quarter finals with our A team at home v O'Tooles at 11am on Sunday on Main Pitch while our B team are across the road in Balheary against Raheny at the same time. Best of luck to both panels.

Juvenile Section

Congratulations to our 6 Fins 2014 U/7 girls teams who played St. Sylvesters on our main pitch for the first ever challenge matches for both teams!!  Over 100 girls took to the pitch playing both camogie and football with some fantastic skills on show.  A great morning was had by all with lots of smiling faces leaving the pitch.  Well done to all the girls and mentors, the future looks bright. 


U/7 Girls

Camogie
The  U/13 Div 3 and U/14 Div 5 had great wins in their respective camogie Championship semi finals last week and are through to the Finals.  U/13s will play Westmanstown and U/14s will play Craobh Chiaráin October 31st (venue to be confirmed). Best of luck to all involved.

U14 Camogie

Our U/13 Camogie girls are in the Div 3 Championship Final and they are also in Div 2 Football Championship Final away to Lucan Sarfields on Sunday 24th. Best of Luck girls. Fins Abú

Hard luck to our Div 1 U/15 who were just beaten by Kilmacud Crokes in the dying minutes in their semi-final last Saturday.  It was a fantastic game to watch, well done girls and all involved, roll on U/16 Div 1.

U/14 Boys
U/14 boys had their last competitive matches last Saturday.  Afterwards they headed to Lawless Park to support the Hurlers and then had a great evening in Rubys to celebrate a great year of games.  Well done to the players and all the mentors.

Our Irish Conversation Group celebrated  its 10 years-a-growing.  Congratulations to the group and to the hundreds that have been involved with the group through the years. It is a great achievement that we areas strong as we ever were.  Happy Birthday to us.

Condolences:

Death of Lily Rock
All in Fingallians would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Rock Family on the death of Lily Rock who passed away last Saturday.  A minutes silence was observed at the Hurling Quarter final for Lily. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Death of Paddy Kelly (Rathingle)
Fingallians would like to pass on our condolences to the Kelly family in Rathingle on the passing over the weekend of their son Paddy.  Paddy played juvenile, minor and junior in the 80's with the club.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Death of Tony Murray
Fingallians would like to pass on our condolences to Martin Murray and Family on the recent passing of their brother Tony.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Hurl Repairs

If you need any hurls mended or bands replaced we will now have a weekly facility. First Team Camogie manager Mick Kennedy has kindly volunteered to help and will be using Seosamh Breathnach Hurley Repairs.  Mick will be collecting hurls at the club on Thursday evenings from the Shop.  Cost should be around €8 and your fixed hurl should be returned to you within 10 days.  All hurls must be clearly named.  Please contact Mick if you have any inquiries (087 254 4651)

Health & Wellbeing 

For World Mental Health Day on the 10th October, The GAA Healthy Club Project is once more partnering with Irish Life to encourage club members to participate in a wellbeing challenge via the MyLife App that has the potential to raise €10,000 for Samaritans Ireland.
