Cover Pic: Junior Ladies Div G Champions
For the past 6 years the lead up to All Ireland Football final had us all busy looking for tickets putting up the Flags and looking forward to a great game. This year is somewhat different, it's the turn of Mayo and Tyrone. We wish all our Mayo and Tyrone members the best of luck and may the best team win.

Calum Lyons in the clubhouse pointing out his Grandfather on the famous 1957 Winning Side
The Hurling Coaching Initiative had the pleasure of welcoming Calum Lyons to Lawless Memorial Park on Saturday. Calum plays his club hurling with Ballyduff Lower and is also a key member of the rising Waterford Senior team. He spent a couple of hours, doing drills and passing on some tips to our young hurlers and of course took some time out to pay tribute to his strong Fingallians connections & heritage. Calum who usually wears #5 for the Déise has some solid links to Fingallians.
Calum giving our U/10s-U/12s some good advice
His mother, Elizabeth (Liz) Lyons nee Moran is the daughter of Pat Moran RIP, remembered by many as Oxy, who was a member of the 1957 Intermediate Football Winning Team. Calum’s Great grandfather, also Pat, but known as P.A. Moran was one of the first Chairmen of the Club. To top it off his Great Grandfather’s brother Christopher (Kit) Moran, like many of the Fingallian’s members was a founding member of the Fingal Brigade and took part in the Easter Rising alongside Frank Lawless.
The club presented Calum with a Club jersey which he says he will ‘wear it with pride during his training sessions’, as the Déise strive to continue their efforts of becoming All Ireland Hurling Champions.
