In this webinar, Áine will discuss implementing an appropriate player development process within the club, the purpose of which is to help all players make the most of their potential. It focusses on the long term development of players, from when they first walk into the club, to when they hang up their boots, and beyond.
An expert in the field of talent development, and in developing at all ages, levels and capabilities, Áine is much in demand as a speaker and consultant. She has worked with county boards and clubs around the country, including with organisations such as Leinster GAA in developing their Turas programme , with clubs such as Kilmacud Crokes in developing their club-wide player development structures, and at national level has presented at the GAA National Games Development Conference.
A recent recruit to DCU’s School of Health and Human Performance, Áine is a well respected academic who has applied her extensive research in Talent Development into national systems across a wide range of sports including England FA, Leinster GAA, Irish Hockey and Sport NI with a focus on policy and strategic development, and coach education.
Áine has published over 70 papers, chapters and books in coaching and talent development (Talent Development: A Practioner Guide ) and is particularly interested in supporting young athletes and coaches on the talent development pathway. She is also an experienced coach, at all age groups from helping her own children's under 10 team, to senior club and county squads, and is well used to putting theory into practice.
